Katelyn was found on the altar of the Church of the Sacred Hearts as a newly born baby, a story was put out in the local papers hoping her mother would come forward, but the priest knew no one would, because what the story failed to reveal was that the Church had been locked up for the night, and there were no signs of forced entry. It was as if Katelyn had just mysteriously appeared from nowhere.
The wealthy Fitzalan family had connections with the Church and as Mrs Fitzalan was unable to have children, she adopted Katelyn as her daughter, vowing to keep secret the truth of how Katelyn was found in a locked Church. From an early age, it was obvious Katelyn was someone very special, she had an ability to be able to see into people’s souls and ease their troubles with a mere touch. Some said there was an almost angelic quality about her.
Despite all the wealth her parents had, as soon as Katelyn graduated, all she wanted to do was live a normal life and work for a living and not rely on her father’s generous allowance he gave her every month. So Katelyn decided on a career in journalism, initially she worked for one of the large media companies, but finding that too restrictive, quickly went freelance. Writing a variety of articles on a range of subjects, Katelyn’s work had been published in several magazines.
Katelyn had always been fascinated by ancient history and archaeology, those were topics she often covered. Now she wanted to explore other subjects that intrigued her and that most people treated with derision, the unexplained, the bizarre tales of the supernatural, demons, shapeshifters…there were so many stories out there and Katelyn was eager to investigate them further.
Since mankind had first journeyed out into the stars and colonised other worlds, a lot of these old Earth myths had been forgotten, or just overlooked in favour of more sensational stories. Katelyn made it her mission to uncover the old stories to see if there was any actual truth in them, little did she realise that in the process, she would discover the truth about herself and her origins.
