About

Who runs this jigsaw gallery?

We are Chris and Shana, two puzzle fans from Lincolnshire, UK. The gallery is our record of the puzzles we do. If we didn’t keep some sort of record, I suppose we’d have to glue every puzzle to a big bit of hardboard, and then we’d have to frame them and hang them on the walls. Wouldn’t be long before we ran out of wall space.

Then we’d have to move to a bigger house.

And a bigger house after that.

It’s easier to put a few pictures online instead.

But couldn’t you just try to remember your puzzles, you know, sorta like inside your head?

Are you joking? Listen: after the age of 40, one’s memory isn’t what it used to be. We’d just forget what we’d done and then we’d have to do the puzzles all over again.

What happens if a puzzle has a piece missing?

We tell it like it is. Sometimes, we even try to make a joke about it, turn it into a feature. Read ‘A pictorial history of Britain‘ to see what I mean.

You must be really keen on jigsaw puzzles

Actually, Chris (that’s me, by the way, talking about myself in the third-person again) wasn’t always into puzzles. He … I… (oh, whoever…) was converted to jigsaws after Shana and I were given one as a Christmas present last year. We enjoyed it so much that we just had to do some more!

Who takes the pictures?

We both do. Shana usually takes the picture of the whole puzzle, and I take the smaller macro shots.

Is there any puzzle you would never do?

Yes. That one with nothing but brussels sprouts on it. It’s an Impossipuzzle, I believe. It’s funny though, because I like sprouts but wouldn’t have the patience to bother with that puzzle; whereas Shana has the patience but isn’t so keen on sprouts. Ain’t life funny?
