Sourcing Materials

I spend an awful lot of time visiting sites looking for the best prices for materials, it’s sadly often the delivery charges that stop me from purchasing from quite a few companies. When an item is only £2.50, how can you justify a £5.95 delivery charge?

But the biggest complaint I have are sites that insist that you register first before even showing you any prices. Can you imagine walking down the high street and being stopped from going in a store until you’ve registered with them before you can see their prices?

At this time of financial crisis, I would have thought businesses would do everything possible to encourage sales, not discourage them.

Alright, rant over, if any suppliers do stumble across this blog, please take note.

Macrame Leaf Pattern

Just a small sample of my first attempt to do a Leaf Pattern.

Twisted Macrame

This mini hanging is made from cotton and done in horizontal cording. It measures approximately 30cm long including tassels. Click on the image for a bigger picture.

Cavandoli Sampler

My first attempt at Cavandoli. This is worked in horizontal cording for the background colour and vertical cording for the pattern. This piece measures approximately 3cm by 14cm including the fringe and I used cotton yarn. Click on the picture for a larger image.

Macrame Sampler

Testing, testing, testing! A little 3″ square-ish sample of Macrame.

Beaded Macrame Necklace

This was made using Jaeger yarn and beads, a bit too fine for macrame, but it was worth a shot!
