Simple Flutterby

I needed something a little easier than the corsage, just a simple design to amuse me. And here is a little seed bead butterfly, only a few centimetres across.

Seed Bead Floral Corsage

Having spent days fighting with seed beads that did not want to be tamed, this morning I finished this corsage I started last night.

It’s approximately 9cm diameter and should be attached to a brooch backing for wearing. However, I’m going to find a glass stem vase and display it proudly in our china cabinet.

Seed Bead Twist

This was an experiment in twisting strands of seed beads and is something else I might work with in the future. I must stop experimenting and actually start making some items for sale!

Faux Viking Knit

I’ve been reading about Viking Knit and it will be something I’ll experiment with in the future. I came across an article about using a French Knitting Bobbin with wire instead of yarn. The only Bobbin I had available was a cheap plastic one, so very carefully I managed to ‘knit’ this small piece. It hasn’t been pullled, just left as it came off the Bobbin, but I think it has intriguing possibilities.

Wire Beaded Fish Pendant

Now I’ve really been experimenting! The inspiration for this came from a book by Mickey Baskett called Wonderful Wire Works. I took several ideas from the book and with a bit of devious twisting, made this pendant.
