Macrame Angel

Around 10cms tall, this little angel is so cute…and remember…an angel is for life, not just for Christmas :)

Jute Dolly – Corn Dolly Style

This one uses chenille stems as a base, which gives greater posing flexibility. Rather than just wrapping the jute around the stems, I knotted it to give the appearance of a Corn Dolly. She measures 21cm from the top of her hair to her toes.

Jute Mini Bag

I made this as a trial to see how easy knotting a bag in one piece with an integral handle would be. Excluding the handle, it measures 15cm long by 10cm wide. The knotting for the beads is called a rosebud knot. Ideally the bag should be lined, but I was eager to take its picture!

And it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. The bag was worked around cardboard, the be able to hold the work steady while I worked, I stuffed a ruler between the pieces of cardboard and balanced that precariously on my knee! I’m sure there has to be an easier way, I’ll make sure I find it before I make another bag!

Autumn Sky

I enhanced this piece with Macrame Weaving, which I’m beginning to find very addictive. Watching me weave the colours in and out, Chris said it is like painting…with yarn. I did contemplate whether I could do a Mondrian in Macrame, but maybe that is ambitious as Chris doing the Mona Lisa on his etch-a-sketch!

The total length of this magnificent piece is 60cm.

Snow Warrior

In this design, I used wool to weave the circular panel and for the tassels. The rest is jute, enhanced with small wooden beads. Top to bottom length is 58cm.
