Filet Crochet Trial Piece

This was made using dishcloth cotton. I know it should have been done in something finer, but as I’m still learning how to do Filet Crochet, I went for something chunkier! It measures 40cm x 27cm.

Crochet Sun Hat

I seem to be developing a sun hat fetish!! This one is crocheted and was very quick to make. I prefer the shape of this one, the knitted one was rather large. I used cotton, obviously, not much point in a sun hat if it isn’t cool! The pattern was taken from a book called ‘Learn To Crochet’ by Sue Whiting, which to be honest, didn’t help at all when I was learning to crochet. But it has some nice patterns in it.

I learned to crochet on the 11th June 2008, so I guess this is a celebration sun hat :)

I-cords

If you fancy a change from the usual knitted I-cord, why not try a crocheted one . I don’t know why I didn’t think of this technique as an alternative to knitting. Maybe because I haven’t crocheted for a while.

Excuse me while I have a senior moment ;)

Four rows on my blankie…

and I’m still crocheting along!! I’ve also added the latest squares to the Tricolour Square Blankie page :)

And row number five is underway!

Three rows on my blankie…

…and I’m still crocheting along!!

Another row!

I’ve finished another 7 squares and uploaded the pics to the Tricolour Square Blankie Page. I’m not going to join this row to the others until I get another colour yarn I’ve ordered, it won’t look right just tacking a few different colours on the last rows!

I had a little nap this afternoon under the 2 rows of the Blankie, it was wonderfully cozy, encourages me to get the rest finished asap :)
