Last night I tried several ways of making a Turk’s Head Knot, the instructions in most of our books show it being wrapped around your hand then twisting all over the place. I tied myself in more of a knot than the knot itself!

But finally I found a method that worked the knot flat and at midnight last night, I completed my first Turk’s Head Knot, the double one in the first picture. Feeling quite chuffed with myself, I’ve just made the treble in the second picture.

The next stage will be actually pulling it together to make a solid knot, or using it to wrap around something. It’s just that it looks so pretty as it is, I’m not sure I want to mess it up!

Every time I try to do a Turk’s Head it ends up looking more like a Dog’s Breakfast. Maybe I should just rename the knot and leave the results as they are!
